Everything Cakes and More

I have a serious addiction to cakes and everything that comes with them! I have been baking and decorating cakes for almost 12 years now for all kinds of occassions! I like to make all kinds of confections with baking and candy making that I will post here too. I mostly create for family and friends but if you have someone or are someone who likes what you see and would like a specialty cake, I would be glad to help! I also do lots of cakes for friends of a friend too. Please have a look around and I hope you enjoy my creations as much as I do!

Christmas cupcakes

December 17, 2014- I made a bunch of cupcakes for the PTA Christmas dinner. There was mint chocolate with ganache frosting, pumpkin spice with cream cheese frosting, and vanilla with whipped cream frosting. They turned out cute and the teachers appreciated them!

Ladybugs!!

August 11, 2014- I honestly can't remember who this cake was for. I am blogging these pics much later that they were taken. I thought it was for a friends daughter but the date on the picture doesn't match with her birthday. So, it's a mystery for now who the ladybugs were for!

Frozen

September 3, 2014-This was a fun, whimsical cake to make. It was for my nieces birthday. She is a big Frozen fan and wanted a Frozen themed cake. Though I didn't hand make the figures, the ice castle on top is made of hard candy that I shaped to fit on the cake. One of my sister-in-laws neighbors saw it and asked for another one just like it for her little girl.

Musical Notes

May 17, 2014- These cupcakes were for my mom's spring piano recital. My daughter is one of her students and naturally they look like a music note and a treble clef!

Sock Monkey

May 10, 2014- This cute sock monkey cake was for my nephews 1st birthday. He got his very own smash cake to eat all by himself!

Family Tree

March 7, 2014- This cake I made for a friend. Her mom was turning 75 and is big into genealogy and wanted a family tree for her cake. It has all her family members named on each leaf and has her and her husbands initials carved into the tree trunk inside a heart!

Bling Bling Wedding

November 22, 2013-This cake was for my nephew and his new bride on their wedding day. She wanted a lot of bling so a lot of the decorations were not edible but with it being covered in fondant it was all easy to remove to get to the cake inside.

Shawn the Sheep cake

June 3, 2013-This was a fun cake I helped my sister with. It's for my nieces 2nd birthday. She is a Shawn the Sheep fan so we fashioned her cake to look like Shawn the Sheep. It came complete with cupcakes covered in mini marshmallows(to look like sheep wool, of course) for the party guests.

Star Wars meets Peanut Butter Cups

February 18, 2014-These little gems are chocolate peanut butter cupcakes with PB frosting. They are for my youngest sons 5th birthday. He wanted them to be Star Wars themed but not fancy so we frosted them and went the Yoda/Darth Vader pick route to decorate. Easy and delish!

Arrow of Light

February 8, 2014-This one was made on the same day as the Green Ninja as my eldest son had a scout Blue and Gold banquet on the second sons birthday. Normally we wouldn't have encroached on the birthday boys day for a cub scout meeting but this was the night the eldest received his Arrow of Light. So, this cake was made to represent the arrow he earned and was part of the dessert at the banquet.

Green Ninja

February 8, 2014-This cake was for my son's 7th birthday. He wanted the gold ninja but I talked him into the green(who becomes the gold in later episodes, I'm told) as the yellow face and gold suit would look a lot the same. We're big on Ninjago around here these days!

Superhero Stack

February 1, 2014-I made this fun cake for my nephews 2nd birthday. The party was a joint birthday party with his cousin(on the other side of the family, so not related to me) so they wanted a cake that would suit a 2 year old as well as a teenager. It is a basic fondant covered layer cake and Thor's wings on the helmet are made from candy melts.

Wedding dress cake

January 9, 2014-This cake was for one of my girlfriends wedding. She wanted something fashioned after her wedding dress and this is what we came up with. She did not have flowers on her dress but I think they added a nice pop of color in an otherwise elegant white cake.

Fan"stache"tic 40th

November 20, 2013-I made this cake for my brother-in-laws 40th birthday. It was mostly just for fun but his wife wanted something that represented him. At the time he was growing out a mean moustache for Mo-vember so the stache on the cake was just right!
