Evelyn's 1st Birthday

June 12, 2013-I made this cake for a neighbor who's daughter just turned one! She wanted a little cake for the birthday girl to be able to dig into and then a sheet cake for family attending the party. The small cake is confetti with vanilla buttercream. The animals are fondant. The sheet cake is chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream.

June 5, 2013- I made this fun cake for my nephews 2nd birthday. It is yellow cake with chocolate filling and covered in fondant. I don't love the taste of fondant much but it sure does look nice!

 

 

Coral fondant stripe wedding cake

June 31, 2013- This is a beautiful wedding cake done for a neighbor and his sweet fiancé. They went crazy with the layers- bottom layer is vanilla cake with chocolate frosting; middle layer is chocolate cake and chocolate filling; top layer is white cake with raspberry filling. Covered in buttercream and fondant stripes. It turned out super cute if I don't say so myself.

Is that Carrot Cake???

May 12, 2013- When my six year old son saw this cake he said, "Mom, is that a carrot cake???" How ever did you know? This one was made for my family's Mother's Day feast but surprisingly it was made with my dad in mind. I made a favorite chocolate cake for the girls(which I sadly forgot to take a picture of) and this carrot cake for dad, as it is one of his favorites! I haven't always cared for carrot cake but I have now made this one a few times and it is growing on me. And of course it's covered in cream cheese frosting! Yum!

Lyndsey's cupcakes

April 29, 2013- These cute little cupcakes were made for my cousin for her 25th birthday. She is not a frosting lover so she asked for confetti cake with whipped cream. She asked and I delivered! She's still a kid at heart.

 

 

Doggy Birthday Cake

 

March 15, 2013- I made this cake for a neighbor's son. He brought over a picture of his dog and wanted his black dog and another with brown spots on his cake with dishes of food. He also wanted the cake to be cotton candy flavor! It was very sweet but certainly tasted like cotton candy!

 

 

 

Curious George Birthday

This cake was fun to make and very nostalgic. Leo decided he wanted a blue cake with George on it with balloons. Here's what we came up with. To make it blue we did a jello poke cake, which my mom used to make for me and my sisters for birthday cakes when we were young. This is where the nostalgia comes in. He wanted it blue so we used blue berry jello, where as I remember always getting lime or lemon, but the results were the same. Very colorful, moist, and delicious! I filled it with whipped cream, iced with buttercream, and George is made out of gum paste.
